ネットフリックス観ながらリラックス！？

本日ご紹介するのはインターネット・スラングです。

TOEICや英検、受験には

まったく役に立ちませんのであしからず。

あまり良いスラングじゃないんでね。

"Netflix and Chill "　

ちょっと前までは、婉曲表現ではありませんでした。

普通に使っている場合の例文をご覧ください。

* ”I'm about to log onto Netflix and chill for the rest of the night.”

意訳：これからネットフリックスにログインして、（残りの）夜はリラックスしようっと。

*ある方のツイッターでのつぶやきです。

ご存じのない方にご説明いたしますが

”ネットフリックス”は、日本でも利用できる

定額制動画配信サービスのひとつで、

Hulu (フールー）、DMM なども同様です。

"Netflix and Chill "　の”ネットフリックス”は、

他の動画やDVD の意も含まれるようです。

上記例文の場合、”Chill” は動詞として使われていて、

「リラックスする＆くつろぐ」の意味で使われています。

”Chill” には使い方や意味が沢山ありますが、

今回は割愛いたします。

直訳：今夜、ネットフリックス（動画）観ながらリラックスしない？

この言葉の裏には、家でイチャイチャしようよ。

という意味合いが含まれています。

なので、もし誰か（とくに異性）に

このように誘われた場合は、

それ（動画を観て＆リラックスする）以上の事を

相手が望んでいると理解した上で、

お返事してください。

極端に言えば、

エ○チしない？と誘っているのと同様なのです。

さすが今どきのスラング。。。

わたしがアメリカに居た頃は、

こんな表現なかったですからね。

時代が変わったと言いますか、

なんだか歳を感じてしまいます。

でもさ、思うんだよね。

私は一生涯使うことがないフレーズだろうなって。
